Editorial Guidelines

eorHQ exists because EOR buyers still compare providers on marketing claims, not verifiable execution. Undisclosed partner entities, FX markups buried in invoices, and overpromised SLAs show up in procurement only after payroll fails. These guidelines explain how we research providers, score them, and correct the record when we get it wrong.

Independence

eorHQ is not owned by or affiliated with any EOR vendor. Affiliate commissions from provider referrals fund the site, but commissions never influence scores or rankings. Featured placement affects card size on the homepage only — not the 6-Dimension Score. See full disclosure.

Research standards

  • Procurement-stage testing: We request quotes, review contracts, and validate pricing line items where providers cooperate.
  • Entity verification: We check owned vs partner models using public registries and provider documentation.
  • Third-party cross-reference: G2, Capterra, and Trustpilot ratings supplement — never replace — our editorial scores.
  • Country weighting: Country ranking pages re-rank providers using the 6-Dimension Score plus country-specific compliance criteria stated on each page.
  • Corrections: Factual errors are updated within 48 hours when verified. Email anchal@eorhq.com.

What we publish

Every provider review follows the same structure: summary verdict, pricing breakdown, strengths, gaps, country coverage, pros and cons, head-to-head comparisons, and a final recommendation — including who should skip the provider. Comparison pages state how each ranking was built on the page. We do not publish pay-for-placement rankings or vendor-written copy.

What we do not publish

  • Provider marketing copy presented as editorial analysis
  • Rankings sold to vendors
  • Thin country pages without country-specific compliance detail
  • Unverified pricing presented as confirmed — we flag numbers still awaiting provider confirmation

Compare and pricing tools

The provider compare table and pricing table use the same scores, fees, entity model, and country data as our reviews — free to use, no sign-up required. Year-one cost estimates include setup fees, FX markup, and benefits admin so you compare total first-year spend, not list price alone. See how we calculate year-one cost. Download the EOR Checklist [PDF] to score finalists with the same criteria we use in reviews.

Author standards

Reviews and guides are written by practitioners with global employment, payroll, or HR operations background. Expert spotlights attribute third-party legal or compliance commentary clearly. Opinion is labeled; facts are sourced.
